Cheap property can be an excellent opportunity for property investors. Cheap property can mean lower outlay (and lower stamp duty!), lower mortgage interest costs and to some extent less risk.

To guide you towards those cheap property investment opportunities here are the 15  cheapest property locations in England and Wales according to Land Registry data as at March 2016.

Key movers and shakers this month are Blaenau Gwent and Merthyr Tydfil in Wales, where annual price rises met the England & Wales national average of 7.1%, while Hull and Stoke both recorded notable annual price rises, suggesting the markets could be on the move there. Meanwhile both Hartlepool and Sunderland recorded notable annual price falls, equalling or exceeding the highest property price falls nationwide.
